ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.
Pome pxcifement was caused m Leps lon on Friday hy a report, which unhappily turnnl out to be correct., that George Ogeton, saddler, had attempted to commit suicide. For some time past Ogston ha b°en peculiar m his manner, and his wi'p, knowing that he ha<) threatened to kill himself, was watching 1 him closely. On Friday morning I.c rose eatly, saying he was going to dig m his garden. His wife shortly followed him, but was unable to find him. Klie gave an alarm and cs she was informing the police, a man name 1 Charles Watson rode into + he township with the news that he had seen Ogston crawling by tho roadside with his throat mr ( Constable S'mpson at onca went to the spot in'lU cated, half a mile from Lres'on, and foun i Ogston bleeding profusely from wounds m the ttiront and arm, which he had inflicted with a pocket knife. He was immediately brought into Leeaton where the wounds were etHchrd up, an.l then removed to the Oliriatchurch hos pital. Hopes are entertained of his recoveiy.
