DR. LYNDEN.
: On Thursday evening this clever illusionist gave an exhibition of his powers as a prestidigitateur in the Town Hall, Southbridge. There was a moderate attendance ; by no means so large a one as the quality of the performance warranted, bnt those who^jtere present were at least appreciative. Dr Lynden did not display any new illusions. Those, however, which he did perform he went through with gteat skill and neatness, toprapletely,. mystifying; ,the audience He uses no cumbrous apparatus, relying entirely on his sleight of hand, and never vainly, Just when, the audience were sure they had him, well— he had them. His ' patter 'is amusing, 1 ; ■ and kept his hearers smiling audibly throughout the performance. ' During the intervals, Mr Clarke sang {'The Song that feachect ray heart/ and .also several comic ditties which were warmly applauded. : Af» the coinolusion ,of. hi« enterlainmeij t^ I)? Lynden gave away a fianclsdme 1 framed oleograph. , He further, gav^jten shillings as a prize amongst the'chil ren and two one pound -notes amongst the adults.
