Mr Rolleston read a telegram from Mr Humphreys, the late member for Christchurch North, denying on behalf of his deceased brother in-law, the late Hon R. Campbell, the statement at tributed to Mr Campbell by the Minister of Lands. The Hon J. Ballance said the Female Franchise Bill would be considered after the Land Bill. The Land Bill wag farther considered m Con.mittee. Several amendments were proposed, but none of an> importance were carried, and tho consideration of the Bill was postponed. Monday, August 81, Mr Ballance said that the Government would give every facility for the further consideration of expunging the vote of censure passed on Mr Bryce, if that gentleman would agree to tbe withdrawal of the words used by him on Thursday last which brought that vote upon him. Along debate ensued, lasting two hours. Mr Rollesiion handed m Mr Bryce's resignation of his seat. Mr Ballance moved that a writ Lie issued for the election ot a member for Waikato. Mr Rolleston moved :an amendment, adding to the resolution a rider providing far the expunging of the vote of censure. This was lost by 3 6 to 24. The Land Bill was further considered m Committee, and reported with amendments. , , :
