The! Customs and Excise Duties Bill was referred to a select Committee. The Stratford County Adjustment Bill was read a second time. The Book Purchasers Protection Bill was considered m Committee. An amendment giving the purchaser power to cancel his order within five days, was lost, and the Bill was reported with slight amendments. The Factories Bill was committed. On motion of don Dv Pollen an HmenJment reducing the minimum age of children employed m factories from four teen to thirteen, was carried, as was an amendment- of /the Hun C. C. Bo wen, definn< a factory as a business employing six persons, instead of three as provided by the Bill. The a.je at which girls may be employed as type setters was reduced from sixteen to fourteen. Other amendments were made m the Bill anil the further consideration was postponed.
