CLYDE TRUST AND LIBRARY COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the members of the above body was hel 1 in the Committee room of the Town Hall on Tuesday evening! the 6tb inst. Present Messrs J. IJ. Cambridge, Chairman ; J. Bi Stevens, Treasurer; !!. Jeffery, J, Dickie, C. Holden, and George Faehe, Secretary. The minutes of previous .meeting were, read and confirmed. ‘ •- j
The Secretary atatad that he had written to Mr Braith waite, bookseller. Dunedin, embodying’an order for the books agreed upon. .., , Resolved—That the sum of LJO be sent to Mr Braith waite as deposit on order. The Secretary stated that the'petition to the Vincent County Conncl r<f a water supply to the town of Clyde hail been prepared, duly signed by the residents, and boon ore. sented to the member for the Dnnstaii Riding, and in due course it had bees laid before the Council, hut no official acknowledgment had yet been received. ° The Treasurer’s statement laid on the table, showed a balance in hand on Library account of 1.30 18s 4d; and on Trust account of L 7 Bb. Accounts for salaries ’ and sundries amounting to L 4 Oi 6d wore passed for payment.

Resolved—That steps be at once taken to fenc« in, tyith wire and standards, such por-tion-of tho Domain as lands will admit of. Resolved —'that the sab committee, when interviewing W, Fraser, E-q, the member for L unsUn Hiding, on the water mp;dy question, propose to him the question of the County aaosidlaini: the eff uts of the Tmst in fencing in the Domain. The meeting then closed.
