DUNSTAN SPRING RACES

This meeting which tank place on the Dunstan racecourse on Friday last the 25th ult,, was like the meeting held at Alexan dra on the previous Friday, a most unqualified success from the stand point of weather, attendance of visitors, and number of competing horses. We, however, cannot shut onr eyes to the fact that the day’s pleasure was’const erably marred by the interminable gaps between the various events. On this point we think the stewards should on future occasions try to makesome alteration, as to those who go to the races purely to see the sport, these long spells areimo on y n ksome. hut lend to make the day’s ou iug anything but one of pleasure. We may here note that the stewards.of the Dunstan Jockey Club are not the only sinners in this respect, and we,hope the hint will be taken in th ■ same kindly spirit in which it is given.
