DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
The usual monthly meeting of the Committee of Management was held in the committee room ef the Town Hall, Clyde, on Monday evening last, the 6th inst. at 8 p.m. Present: Messrs B. Naylor, President; J. S. Hickson, Vice-President; Holt, Attfield, Cambridge, Crawford, J. E. Stevens, Treasurer ; and G. Fache, Secretary. The minutes Eof previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence, including letter from the liquidator of the Cromwell Quartz Company. intimating that the old workmen had no power to deal with the monies lying to the credit of Sick Fund of the Company, and that the directors had already acted -upon the account. From the Colonial Secretary’s office to tho •effect that the Hon. Mr Larnach, Minister ■of Mines, haUlwoaght under tho notice of the Government the subject matters brought under his notice by a depuration of the Dunstau Hospital Committee, but there was no money now available for the purpose of supplying the institution with water. The Secretary stated that he had in obedience with instructions issued at last ■meeting supplied all the station masters and many others in the district with subscription lists, accompanying same with a cir •cular letter. The Visiting Committee reported In their No. 1 report that everything was working ■satisfrctorily, but that some new bedding was required, and suggested that tho Lake county be asked for a supply of forest trees for the grounds. The committee were ordered to procure the necessary bending required, and the '■Secretary was instructed to write the Lake County nursery manager for trees. I Report No. 2 recommending payment of accounts for salaries and supplies fo’ month •of May, amounting to L 56 2a 3d; for June, L 39 17a 41; was read and received. Treasurer’s report showing a debit balance of L4O 14s 101 was read an 1 received. Surgeon’s report was read aud received. Mr C. Attfield was re-elected member of the Visiting Committee. A sub-committee consisting of the President, Vice-president, Treasurer, and Secretary was appointed to examine into the now Hospital and Charitable Aid Bill, and to convey to tha member of the district any suggestions on same they may deem necessary. The meeting then closed.
