CLYDE PUBLIC SCHOOL. The following is the summary of results «( the above schrol ending 26.h November, 1884

Passes attainable in subjects, 318 ; passes attained, 2G6 ; percentage gained, 76. Number on roll, 115; average attendance. 97 ; Hieh-st attendance, 103; attendance at examination, 106. It-srscTOß-’s Report. These results aie not quite so good as those of last year, the decline being, no Atffet, due to the fact that the school had closed several months for various during the vear. The Ist and 6th Standards have passed a very good examination, and the 2nd, 4th, and sth a fair one. The following notes indicate the character ot the answering in the several subjects of examination : Reading —Fluent, accnrate, and fairly expressive. The language of the lessons was well explained by the 6 hj Standard, and rather poorly by the 2nd, 4th, and «th. Spelling.-Good in all the Standards except the 4th and sth. ■ Wri'ing.- Very good throughout. Arithmetic,—Weak in IV. and V., and good in the rest.. Grammar.—Well understood except by IV, The composition was goed. Geography and. History.—Very fairly answeied. , . Ol ject Lessons and Elementary Science receive satisfactory attention)

' Not. 26th, 1884. ’ALEXANDRA PUBLIC SCHOOL. The following is the* summary of results of the above school ending 27th November,.

Passes attainable in subjects, 289 j passes attained, 251 ; percentage gained, 87. ; Inspector’s Report. The results, notwithstanding the very irregular attendance of late, caused by the measles epidemic, are highly satisfactory. With the exception of the arithmetic of the 4th and sth, and the ■ grammar of -the 6tb, which are somewhat weak, the work of the school was very creditably done. I was much pleased with the accurate and dis« tinct reading, the very careful writing, and the general intelligence of the pupils. ; Object lessons and elementary science have received due attention. Singing is very fair in the infant room. Sewing is very satisfactory both as to quan ity and quality. The order, attention, and tone of the school are excellent,. Wm. Taylor, Inspector.
