Cricket.
CROMWELL V. BLACKS. The second match of the season between the Cromwell and Blacks dabs took place on the ground of the latter on Monday last, and resulted after a close and most exciting contest in a win for the home team by three runs on the first innings. The weather throughout the day was very changeable. In the latter part of tbe afternoon rain fell continuously, and an adjournment became necessary during the second innings of the home team, to the great disadvantage of the viaitora, who bad not time to play out their second innings. For the home team Messrs Pitches, Burren, Laidlaw, Hogan, and Ferguson did well with the bat, Hogan making top score of the day i Messrs Ferguson and Pitches bowed well, the former taking 4 wickets with 4 successive balls in the iirst innings.
