THE AUSTRALIANS AT HOME. London, May 12.

The cricket match Australians v. Lord Sheffield’s team commenced at Sheffield today. The following are the names of the Home team :—Grace, Greenfield, Shaw, Hide. Philips, Shrewsbury, Barnes, Barlow, Ulyett, Harrison, and Mycroft. The attendance of spectators was large, and the weather splendid. The visitors met with a good reception. The Hume earn went in first, and w re all out for Bb, the highest scorer being Shrewsbury, 1.b.w., 39. The bowling of Giffen and Palmer was very effective. The f. nmer took six wickets for 60 runs, and the latter four for 30. The Australians then commenced their first innings, and at the conclusion of the day’s play ha I lost four wickets for a total of 172. The principal scorers were—M’Donn 11, bowie l ', 32; Bann.'nnan, not out, 71; Giffen, caught, 27 ; Blnckbam, not out, 22.
