CLYDE TRUST AND ATHENÆUM COMMITTE

The usual monthly meeting was held on Tuesday evening last. Present- -Messrs Geo. Fache (Chairman), B. Naylor, J. U. Cambridge, J E. Stevens, and J Smart (Secretary and Treasurer) The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. In reply, the Treasurer said there was a sum of L 193 odd as fixed deposit to the credit of the Trust, and that there was a' liability of somewhat about L 25 due jointly by the Trust and the Athenaeum, and that there were subscriptions duo, nmounting to about LIC The Chairman said every effort should be made to get in the overdue subscriptions by the end of the year, as the more was received the greater proportion of the L6OOO voted by the last Parliam ,, ht in aid of public libraries would be allocated to this Institution. Resolved--That the Secretary send circulars to all subscribers in arrear, asking for payment. Hesnlvel—That the annual meeting of subscribers for the purpose of receiving report of Retiring Committee and the election rf new Committee be held on Wednesday, January 9th, in the Library, at 7 p.m. It was pointed out that only annual subscribers of LI could vote at the annual meeting, and the Secretary was instructed to make this as widly known as possible. Resolved—That tenders be invited from persona willing to fence in tbe reserve, about 40 acres. (See advt.) The meeting then closed.
