Mr Mitchelson was present. Various matters were discussed, and the usual satisfactory replies given. The Government has decided to send a steamer in search of the missing men who disappeared at Campbell Island. The Christchurch people are disgusted at the dilatorines? of .Government,' and have resolved to charter a steamer at once to proceed there. Six bundled and thirty pounds was guaranteed at a meeting. At a meeting of the unemployed yesterday at Christchurch, it was resolved that it is the bounden duty of Government to stop free and assisted immigration, the money to make work for the masses.
