(From our own Correspondent. ) Dunklin, May 31«t, 7.59. p.m. There was a noisy meeting at the Chamber of Commerce yesterday re constitution of Harbour Board. I* was resolved that the Board should consist mainly of members appointed by the Government, and skilled men, who should be remunerated for their services. Charles Vickers, a prisoner in gaol, escaped yesterday morning and has not yet been captured. The Governments of N.S.W. and (N. A. ?) have agreed to renew the Frisco mail contract for two vears. James Reid, steerage passenger by the Wanaka was found dead in his bunk on board yesterday. Mr Carkeek, thfl surveyor, is missing near Taranaki; He has not yet been found. The N.S.W. Government are going to announce anew loan of two millions, to be increased to three millions, if market is favorable. Weiberg, the Avoca gold robber, has been leleased. Owing to the proceedings at the Chamber of Commerce meeting yesterday Keith Ramsay has resigned his seat on the Harbour Board.
