The Land Board yesterday decided that a house on wheels on deferred payment lands was infringement of the conditions. Harry Jackson has been arrested at Christchurch, on a charge of shooting at Mr -Deans a y- ar ago. The West Coast Railway Commis'on have commenced their work at'Brunner. Kamo hotel and butchers shop at Auckland was burned down yesterday, loss estimated at £3U(IO. The Colonial Insurance Company pay ten per cent, dividend. £ISOO will be added to the Melbourne Cup in future instead of £SOO. New South Wales Parliament has been prorogued. The Customs revenue for April amounted to one hundred and twenty-one thousand, the beer duty was five thousand. The Tasmanian loan of half a million has been subscribed. The Queensland loan of three millions is announced. At the Land Board yesterday licenses were ordered to be issued to Matthew Elliott and John Plaister of sections in Strath Taien, Consideration of other purchasers of licenses was deferred.
