Beneath the rule of men entirely jusv The pen is mightier than the sword.
The forthcoming Agricultural Show, at Blacks, on Saturday, March 17, promises to be a success, if but a tithe of the entries come on to the ground as arc already promised. The establishing of institutions of
this character has a generally all-round beneficial effect in various ways; it not alone brings people together to discuss the various questions affecting them, but it creates a healthy spirit of emulation, without which there can be no progress. By the manner in which all sections of the community have gone into this affair, the liberality they have displayed so as to allow of so really excellent a programme, is evidence of life and pith, and that the agricultural interest is taking a firm hold. We should like to see a Farmers’ Club started with a very'sTmaU membefship fee, papers,‘ periodicals, and general literature on agriculture c °. uld procured, and great results would be found to follow. The question is one worthy of consideration, and we commend it to the Committee of the coming show.
