CLYDE V. ALEXANDRA. The return match between the above clubs was played at Alexandra on New Tear’s Day, and resulted in an eisy vi tory for Clyde by 9 wickets. Tlie bon linn of T. Ellis prove too much tor Alexandra. The Clyde team hiving won the toss S'-nt their opponents to the wickets, which they succeeded in keeping up till 13 runs were made. Clyde then handled the wdiow, and after having put together the small total of 29, they again took the held. Alexandra in their second innings managed to put ogelher 3G tins, of which number Campbell, by hard hittiug, contributed 15. The match between Ivo Bligh’s team and the Australian Eleven ended in a decided victory for the Australians by 9 wickets. The scores were Austtalians 291 and 56 for one wicket Englishmen, 177 and 169. Bonner carried off the batting palm, he having scored 85 ; and Giffen was the most destructive bowler iu the second innings, ho having secured four wickets for 38. The Englishmen were considerably weakened through the absence of Morley, he being unable to play through illness. Both teams meet again at Sydney, and the result will be looked forward to with interest.
