We do not hold ourselves responsible for the opinion express by our correspondents. THE FORTHCOMT'G CONCERT AT OPHIR. TO THE EDITOR. Sir—lt waa with pleasure that I noticed in your paper a programme of a concert to be given on the 28 hj inst. in aid of the Sunday School Library. In my opinion it derives to be well patronised on account of the trouble of the present teacher (Mrs James Smith) has taken to keep it together. When she took charge the Sunday School was almost closed on account of the small number attending; but it is now so. I hear, steadily increasing, as tb re is more inducement to the children to attend regular. If a full house is anything to judge by, then the parents should show up in large numbers as' a mark of their appreciation of Mrs Smith’s attention to advance the children in Bible knowledge and singing. A word for other kind ladies, who I hear, are not sparing labour nor expense in making gifts, banners, and flags to adorn the Christmas tree, , which id itself will be a novelty. ’ The teacher. has, too,- at her own expense, purchased prizes for the children, which will be presented on the night of the concert. I hope to see a good house, as the want of a good library for the children has been a long-felt want.—l am, &c., December 20th, 1882.
