There were present The 11 ev. J. Lothian, Alexandra (Chairman), Messrs. Hughes, and Morgan, Cambrian ; Paterson, Becks; Shepherd, Matakanui; Alexander, Blacks. At a meeting held some three weeks previous it was resffived that in view of having the district made a permanent charge that lists shou'd be taken round the several divisions to find out if sufficient support would be promised to warrant the Presbytery in asking the Synod to make the district into a charge. The lists to be produced at the present meeting. The totals of all the lists showed a deficiency |of some £ls of the stipulated amount required ; but as the collections at the services would be available to swell the amount, it was agreed that the application should be made at the next meeting of the Synod, which takes place in January. In tlie meantime, as there was a sum of money available for building a manse, it was resolved that Mr. Lothian should endeavour to arrange with the proper parties respecting a site, and if successful that he call for tenders immediately for the erection of the building. The meeting then adjourned until the date on which the tenders would he called for, if a site was secured, or until convened by Mr Lothian should he fail in the matter of the site.
