DUN STAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL

The ordinary monthly meeting of the committee of management was held in the committee offices, Clyde, on Monday evening last, the 9 hj inst. Present : Messrs J. U. Cambridge, (in the chair). Holt, Clark, Crawford. Sims, J. S. Dickie, Treasurer ; and G. Fache. Secretary. Tiie minutes of previous meeting weie read and confirmed. The visiting committee reported having visited the institution several times since the last meeting, and found everything working in the most satisf ictory manner. The visiting committee’s report (No 2), showing an expenditure for the past quarter of £2ll 10s. 2d., including £B4 special attendance of Dr Hyde, nen lingtheappoint-m-nt of a successor to Dr Foot, was read and received. The Treasurer’s report for the quarter showing a debit balance of £97 18a 2d was rea i and received. The Surgeon’s report, shewing four patients remaining in Hospital on Ist October, and enclosing list of dings, &c., required, was read and received. Resolved : That the surgeon bo instructed to order drugs required from Messrs Kempthorne Prosser and Co. The Treasurer stated that Mr J. B. Stevens, Vice President ; had purchased a new kitchen range for the surgeon’s residence, a n d that he asked the committee’s acceptance ot same. Resolved : That the very best thanks of the committee be accorded to Mr J. E. Stevens for his miinifieient gift, and that he bo credited with cost of same—£7 7s. fid—as a donation. The Secretary was instructed to apply to the Government for a refund of special expenses incurred oyer the patient William Cakebieak(£U 125.), who was ultimately committed to the Dunedin Lunatic Asylum. Messrs Carahrilge, Holt, and Sims were elected members of the Visiting Committee, to retire in the order named. The meeting then closed
