Young Emperor full brother to Rob the Ranter took first at the Oamaru Show in 1875, and first prize at the Moly- • noux Show in 1878. Nancy, own sister to Ron the Ranter,has obtained two first prizes . at the Taieri Show and was bred by Robert [ Muir. The first prize dry mare at Oamaru in 1878 was own sister to Rob the Ranter 1 and’alao bred hy Mr. Muir. Rob the Banter is a dark bay horse, stands IGi hands high, of a quiet docile temper, and has proved himself a sure foal getter. He was exhibited fat the Taieri Show in 1874, where he gained first prize, beating nine others ; Jin 1875 he was placed second, beating J seven others 1 When three years old. he was placed third ' at the Waikouaiti and Shag Valley in 1876. , When four years, be took first prize at the j same Show in 1877, beating five others, s and in 1878 be was awarded first prize over ' seven others. At Blueskin the same year [ was placed first, beating six other competii tors. He also carried off the sweepstake i at Blueskin the same year for the best ani--1 mal on the ground. In 1886, he took first 1 prize at the Waikouaiti and Shag Valley 1 Show ; first prize at the Blueskin Show, i and the champion prize for the best repre- ! sentative of the draught breed, and third J prize at the Metropolitan Show the same r year. Maggie Lauder, his dam, has been ' the winner of sixteen prizes, ten of them beI ing first prizes in Otago. Dam Blossom, g dam Charlotte, by Lincoln Hero, imported ; g.g. dam Grey Charlotte, the great prize-taker in Tasmania, got hy Grey Champion, imported; dam Black ted from Scotland by Do lers and Hartwell, Champion, mare by Diamond, imported. Young Lochnivar gained the following prizes as a two year old—First at Hobart Town, first at Melton Mowbray, and first at Richmond. Young Lochnivar has proved himself a sure foal getter; Terras : LI 10s payable on Ist February, 1883 ; and LI 10s if proved to be in foal. Groom’s fee ss, payable at first service. Harkaway is a beautiful bay and stands 16 hands and 3 inches in height. He is one of the strongest horses that ever travelled the districts, and is suitable for getting any class of horse required in the Province—either cross country or strong upstanding roadsters with plenty size and bone.
