A few Years ago a large sum (I think £500) was wade up in that wav as a parting gift to Sir Dillon Bell. More recently about £IOO was 'similarly raised in Dnnedin for the Bev. M. W. Green, in recognition of bis debates and lectures against Freetliouglitism. The lad "Webb’s case is one of far greater importance, and one that appeals to the practical sympathies of every man .and woman. It is impossible he can earn his livelihood in an ordinary way. and will have to he trained for some profession adapted to bis physical hmdition. That means expense, for which the hoy and his father are hot ill prepared. If snd’ a snhscriptfon is determined upon, and a committee formed to carry it ont. I will be dad it the Secretary will communicate with me, and afford me the opportunity ■of co-operating.— I am <fce., ■ J. A. Torrance. P. S. The lad is steadily gaining strength.
