(From our own Correspondent.) Dunedin. Thursday. Archibald Forbes will not visit Hew Zealand till after the Melbourne Gup is run. Robert Warner has been arrested at Sydney on a charge of having absconded as bankrupt from Oamaru. The Sheriff has decided that nobody shall take a cas, of Winiata’s ktj.il after death. A well-known settler, named George Bidgood, of West Coast, was drowned yesterday in the Grey River. A meeting of the New Zealand Shipping Company was held at Christchurch yesterday, when a dividend'of 10 per cent, was declared. Mr. Pyke preesnted a petition to the House yesterday from Vincent Council, praying for reilef from financial difficulties; it was returned from the Public Petition Committee and referred to Government for consideration. Two youngsters were brought np at the Police Court this morning charged with burglary at the coffee shop in High Street. Mr. Beetham will move in the House shortly for the appointment of a Select Committee to report on the best means of abating the rabbit nuisance. No later Australian cricket news.
