DUNSTAN PRESBYTERY.

The Presbytery mot at Alexandra on the 15th sederunt. The Revs. R. Telford (moderator), J. M‘Cosh Smith, J. Lothian, and S. Bbiokie (minister), and Mr George M‘Neill (elder). Mr John M’Kenzie (older) was also present.

The Presbytery elected Mr filakio, moderator, for tbe ensuing term. Mr -Holland, -of Blackstone Hill, clerk, wrote, resigning his office. Tbe Presbytery accepted bis resignation with regret, and recorded its hearty thanks to Mr Holland for his valuable service in the past. Mr Lothian, of Alexandra, was then elected-clerk in the room of Mr Holland.

Tbe report of Lauder district was given in and the Presbytery expressed its satisfaction wi hj tbe success that bad attended the labors of Mr Hutson, the missionary, and also with the amount of support given by the people to their efforts; and the Presbytery resolved to do .their utmost to secure continuous -services to the district, and instructed the clerk and Mr Smith to make the necessary arrangements for that purpose

Remits of Synod on Union, on Snstentation Fund, on Admission of Ministers, •and on] Marriage with Deceased Wife’s Sister were adjourned till next meeting. The clerk was requested to communicate with 'the Mission Committee in reference to a visit of Mr Don, the Chinese Missionary. After transacting some-other business of a routene nature the Presbytery adjourned to meet at Blacks, on the third Wednesday (20ch) of September.
