Nichols, Esq, of Tasmania. His sire, Sir Walter Scott, imported from Scotland by Doders and Hartwell, was got by the Duke of Hamilton’s champion horse, the original Sir Walter Scott, Dam Blossom, g dam Charlotte, by Lincoln Hero, imported ; g.g. dam Grey Charlotte, the great prize-taker in Tasmania, got by Grey Champion, imported ; dam Black Champion, mare by Diamond, imported. Young Loehnivar gained the following prizes as a two-year old—First at Hobart Town, lirst at Melton Mowbray,and first at Richmond. Young Loehnivar has proved himself a sure foal getter. Royal Duke will travel this season through Blacks, Tinkers, Dtybread, Ida Valley, and St Balkans’ Districts. T) OYAL DUKE is a {mre-bred Clydesdale, IV stands 164 hands high, possesses great strengtn of bone, firm action, beautiful symmetry, and is of a bright bay colour ; he also has proved himself a sure foal getter. Royal Duke won the first prize when a three year old colt ia Dunedin, and the second prize against all comers at the Clutha. At the Agricultural Show, Dunedin, he also gained the prize as a three year old colt One of his foals, shown in Tokomatriro last year, gained tire first prize against numerous competitors. Royal Duke was got by Champion (well known to be the best horse imported to this colony), out of the celebrrtcd mare Jessy, imported in 1863, by Messrs Emmery and Straglran, from Tasmania. The same year she gained the Taieri Agricultural Society’s first prize for the best colonial-bred mare, and the second prize for the best draft mare at tire Show, beating Mr Nimmo’s black imported direct from Scotland, and the fol'owing year took prizes both in Dunedin and Taieri. THE ENTIRE DRAUGHT HORSE, WILL stand this season at Mr Harrington’s farm, Blacks. Securely fenced and well watered paddocks, the host in the district, provided for mares at Blacks and Ida Valley. Ben Lomond is a beautiful dark bay with black points ; was foaled 23th February, 1869 ; stands 10A hands high; sire, Sir Benjamin. Sir Benjamin by the imported horse Ben Lomond. Sir Benjamin’s dam was imported from Scotland by Bichard Brodie, Esq. ; Young Bon Lomond's clr.m, Blossom, was by Messrs M‘lutosh's imported horse, Prince Charlie; Blossom’s dam by Mr B. Brodie’s imported mare Nell. This shows that Young Ben Lomond is bred from imported stock, both sire and dam’s side. Ilia stock have taken lirst prizes at the Blueskin Annual Show 187,' i, 1874, and 1875, against all comers. A one year old filly by him took first prize at Palmerston, in 1870. Ben Lomond took first prize against all comers at Blacks An • nual Show, 1831; also did some of hie stock take first and second prizes at the same show. Last year, a yearling colt, and a three-year unbroken filly charged hands at LSU each. These facts speaks for themselves. lie is a splendid worker and a sure foal-getter.
