Emperor, by Napoleon, imported, out of -Nancy, imported, bred by Mr Findlay, Easterhill, by Bailieston, Glasgow. Maggie Lauder, by Prince Charlie, bred by Mr Anderson, Wigtonaliire, imported to Melbourne by Messrs J. and M. Mackintosh, out of Blanche, imported by the late D. Neshit, Esq. Young Emperor full brother ; to Rob the Ranter took first at the Cainaru Show in 1875, and first prize at the Molynenx Show in IS7S. Nancy, own sister to Rob the Ranter, has obtained two first prizes at the Taier! Show and was bred by Mr Robert Muir. The first prize dry mare at Oamarn in 1873 was own sister to Rob the Ranter, and also brod by Mr Muir. Rob the Ranter is a dark bay horse, stands 164 hands high, of a quiet docile temper, and has proved himself a sure foal getter. He was exhibited at the Taieri Show in 1374, where he gained first prize, beating r.ine others ; in 1575 he was placed second, beating seven others. When three years old, ho was placed third at the Waikouaiti and Shag Valley Show in 1876. "When four years old, he took first prize at the same Show in 1877, beating five others, and in 1878 lie was awarded first prize over seven others. At Blueskiu the same year he was placed first, beating six other competitors. He also called off the sweepstake at Blueskiu the same year for best animal on the ground. In 1879 lie was awarded third prize at the Metropolitan Show, Dunedin, boating Mr Grant's imported horse and several other renowned prize-takers; and be was a second at Waikouaiti the same year. In 1880, be took first prize at the Waikouaiti and Shag Valley Show ; first prize at the Bhicskin Show, and the champion prize for the best representative of the draught breed, and third prize at the Metropolitan Show the same year. Maggie Lauder, bis dam, Iras been the winuei of sixteen prizes,ten of them being first prizes, in Otago. Thus showing Rob the Ranter on both sides to have come from the most successful prize stock exhibited in Olago—a position which ho has eminently maintained. Terms, £3 15 a , including groomage. Payable on Ist of February, 1882. Guarantees as per agreement. Mares sold or exchanged held as in foal. Paddocks provided tor mares from a distance; all care taken, hut no responsibility incurred.
