Personal. —We desire to announce to our subscribers that, on the conclusion of the serial story now running in our supplements, there will be published the opening numbers of Mr Marcus Clarke’s new novel, entitled “ The Mystery of Major Molineux,” the right to publish which we have purchased from the author. The story is a somewhat remarkable one, and founded on facts connected with the early history of Tasmania, and will be found to be of interest. A reviewer, speaking of “ The Mystery of Major Molineux,” says ;—“ For intensity of sustained interest and soulthrilling excitement it is only surpassed by Edgar Allan Poe in * The Mystery of Marie Roget,’ and ‘ The Murders in the Rue Morgue.’” Incur efforts to supply our subscribers with a good readable supplement we trust to be supported. Wo purpose publishing the novel in book form, and shall be pleased to receive orders for copies.
