STOCK REPORT.

Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report for, the week ending Wednesday, July 13,1881 as follows:

Pat Cattle.— To-day’s market was supplied with 166 head of medium to extra prime quality, and 123 head stores and dairy cattle. There was better demand for all kinds, and prices a little higher; medium sorts making fully last week’s rates. Best bullocks sold at L 9 10s to Lds 2s 6d ; others, L 7 10s to L 9 5s ; best cows; L 8 to LlO 2s Gd ; others, L 4 15s to L 7 odor equal to 25s per lOOlbs for prime ; 21s to 22s Gd, medium. Stores up to L 5 2s 6d. Fat Calves.- Thirteen yarded, and sold at 14s to 2Gs each. Fat Sheep.—The market was supplied with 128 merino wethers of good quality, and 1744 crossbreds ; most of these were of exceptional quality. The number penned, although only moderate, proved fully equal tained those of' 1 asFwee u’ brought 15s to 16s 3d ; good do, 14s to 14s 9d ; others, 10s 9d to 13s Gd ; best merino wethers, 11s ; others, 9s Gd to 10s 3d. We sold small drafts at quotations. We quote pri men mtton, 2id to 2Jd per lb. Fat Pigs.—A large number penned, viz., 190, consisting of, say two-thirds stores, the rest porkers of good quality. Bacon pigs sold at 42s to 52s Gd ; porkers, 24s to 33s ; stores, 5s to 21s each. We sold on account of Messrs T. and J. Taylor, A. Young, and D. Kirby, 101 at quotations, and placed 105 privately. Store Stock.—No transactions.

Wool.—At our skin sale on Monday we offered a few lots, which sold at—Crossbred up to IOJd per lb. Sheepskins.—At our regular weekly sale we offered a full catalogue of green skins. There was brisker demand, especially for heavy eross-breds, prices showing considerable improvement. Best eross-breds fetched 4s 4d to 4s 7d ; others, 3s 3d to 4s 3d ; merinos, 3s 9d to 3s lid. Tdllow. —On xvn nffpTPfl RAVArnI lots. Trices, however, are a shade easier, except for good sound parcels, fit for shipment. We quote best mutton, L 26 ; good mixed, L 25 ; medium and inferior, L2O to L 23 ; butchers’ rough fat, LI6 to Ll7 per ton.

Grain.—Wheat: Choice samples of all classes have been in good demand both by shippers and local millers, several lines beingtaken up at top rates. Oats : On Saturday last wo held our weekly sale ; there was a large attendance, and out of 2509 hags submitted we sold 2048 bags at 2s to 2s 2id. Barley is inquired after, but buyers offer low prices. Wo quote prime milling wheat, 4s 2d to 4s 4d ; good do, 3s lid to 4s Id medium, 3s 3d to 3s lOd ; fowl’s feed, 2s Cd to 3s Id ; oats, beat milling, 2s I'd to 2s 2td ; bright feed, 2s to 2s Id ; discoloured and smutty, Is lid ; barley, malting, 2s 4d to 2s lOd ; milling, 2s to 2s 2d ; feed, Is 9d to 2s ; Derwent potatoes, L2 15s to L 3 per ton.
