INTERPROVINCIAL.
At Auckland, Garrard, the labor agitator has again broken out, and commences a fresh crusade against thg Chinese and on the labor question. Thomas Simms has been committed for trial on a charge of the attempted murder of Annie Carline at Riverhead.
On the 13th instant, at Auckland, another cashbox rabbery is reported. The proprietor of the “ Observer ” was the victim. L 44 in cash was taken, but cheques to the amount of L 25 were left.
The friends of the late Captain Garrard, of the Tararua, intend to have the body exhumed, and taken to Christchurch for burial.
On the 13th instant, a large number of laboring men left Christchurch for Sydney in the Arawata. The to*-al number of sacks of wheat at Lyttelton, on the 14th instant, awaiting shipment was estimated at 250, QUO. Dr A. H. Neill, of Dunedin, has been selected as the resident Medical Superintoudent of the Wellington Lunatic Asylum.
