An Oamaru exchange Bays : "Wo are informed on undoubted authority that Mr Watt is not to be permanently stationed here as R.M. Ho is merely to take this district until the Government can find him another." _ At Charleston, on the night of the 12th instant, the Government dam was carried away, doing a considerable amount of damage. The accident will cause nearly a total cessation of mining in the district.
