BRITISH AND FOREIGN. (From Exchanges.) St. Petersburg, March 15th, Ronaakoff, the assassin of the late Emperor, has now made a full confession of his crime. A Nihilist manifesto has been issued, referring to the assassination of the Czar in terms of exultation at the success of Konaakoff’s attack. Several arrests of Nihilists have been made, who are suspected of having been instrumental in the issue of the manifesto. March 16th. It has been discovered that the palace which was occupied by the Emperor Alexander 111, when Czarewitoh is undermined and sappers are now searching with the object of ascortaing whether any explosives are concealed in the passages, March 17 th. It is generally understood in Russian Court circles that the Czar, Alexander 111, will follow the late Emperor’s policy of reform, and his efforts in the direction of maintaining the peace of Russia. London, March 17th. A box containing 4Wh of gunpowder, with a burning fuse attached to it, was found last night on a ledgo of the wall of the Mansion House. A somewhat serious disturbance occured to-day at Aldershot. A drunken Irish soldier was being arrestel by the police, when a number of civilian sympathisers endeavored to prevent his being taken into custody. A riot ensued and lasted for some time, hut was finally quelled by fresh bodies of police arriving on the scene and overpowering the rioters, a uumbr of whom were arrested. March 18th. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is *2,190,060. March 19 th. In the House of Commons the consideration of supply is leociving rapid progress. The Irish members arc abstaining from obstruction. March 21st. Mr Parnell has been in Ireland for some time past, and his prolonged absence is causing muck comment and criticism on the part of his followers in the House of Commons. A general impression prevails that the death of Alexander 11. will force a speedy solution of the Eastern Question.
