The ' cause explosion of a bomb 1 £ - Later. t The fnMowing are the particulars of the t assassination of the Otnf: Accompanied 1 by his suite he was witnessing a parade J of troops in the otty to-day when a bomb i was suddenly thrown from among the J spectators. It fell ciose to where he was e standing and exploded, hut did no harm ] to his Majesty. A second bomb Was t almost simultaneously thrown, shattering ( his legs and otherwise mortally wounding « him. The Czar was at once conveyed to a t house near at hand, but died within two 1 hours from loss of blood, though every 1 effort was made by doctors, at-once in 1 attendance, to stop the flow. Great con- 1 sternatjon was caused on the parade ground 1 when the bombs were thrown, and when 1 the effect of their explosion was seen. 1 Several persons, including some members ' of the Czar’s suite, were killed, and many others ! seriously wounded. The assassin ( was arrested at the scene of the outrage ", before he had time to escape. , Latest. i The assassination of the Emperor has led to no disturbance in this-City, all being perfectly quiet. . 1 The Czarewich has been received with ' shouts of acclamation by the people. Expressions of condolence and sympathy with the Imperial family have been received from all the crowned heads of Europe. The Czar Alexandra-the Third has issued a manifesto upon his accession to the throne of Russia. His Majesty strongly denounces the muderous attack made on the Dynasty. The manifesto gives, no outline of the future Impeiral policy. the railway commission, 1 Naseby, March 17th. The Railway Commissioners left Blanks I on Tuesday, went over the Lauder block to 1 the White Horse, Becks, and thence by the way of the Messrs Holland's station to Hill,s Creek. At both of these places evidence was obtained of the fertility of. the country, the crops being as good as in Ida Valley, and further, almost the whole of the land that has been opened for selection has been taken up From Hill’s Creek the Coramiasionets went to Kyebnrn, calling at Chapman’s station, and returning by the way of Kyebnrn station. At Naseby', deputations, headed by the Mayor, /waited on the Commissioners to. urge the construction of the : Miue, and a number of settlers gave evidence fully corroborative of that given in other places. | BLACKS AGRICULTURAL SHOW. The entries in alb classes were good, and the judges had considerable trouble in many instances in awarding prizes.
