Mr Donald Stronach (on behalf of the Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the week ending January 25.1 i Fat Cattle.—The moderate supply of 157 head came forward to-dnv, but ornnpe ition from the trade was very slack, and sc ireely supported !st market prices. Bnllodks fetched from I.GtoLU s=, and cows L 5 to 1.9 12s Cl' per bond. We sld drafts on account of .Messrs William Shand and David Corsan. the former at 1,7 17s (id for bullocks, and 1.5 2s 0 1 to L 7 I Os for cows, and the latter at. 1,6 17s 6 I to LIO 10s for bullocks, and 1.6 2s 6.11 1 L!) 12s 6d for cows. Quotation for prime beef, 22s CJ per 10111b, Fat Calves.—l 7 were yarded and sold at 9s to 22< per head. Fat Sheep.—23ll head were penned, consisting ot 1811 cross.breds and 500 merinos.
