LAND BOARD.

The following business was transacted at tho sitting of the Waste Lauds Board held on the 20th ultimo ; Mr James Holt’s app'ication for remit of rent duo on his coal lease at Clyde was refused, the Board having no power to gi-an' it. Mr H-dt had suffered considerable loss from the flood of 1873 The Chairman of the Vincent County Council wrote enclosing tracings of bridge reserves at Alexandra and Blacks, and asked the Board to recommend Governmoot to grant the same u dor part VII, of tho Land Ant, 1877.—1t was resolved, •' That Government ho recommended to make the reserves as requested, the Chairman to be informed that, in tho opinion of tho Board, areas of ten acres are sufficient to reserve for gravel and quarry purposes. The District Land Officer, Queenstown, returned John Cole’ Chappie's application to lease his deferre I payment section 29, block HI. Lauder district, and recommended tho Board to comply with his request.—Approved.
