RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT, CLYDE.
(Before Jackson Keddcll, Esq , E.M.) Monday, January 17th, 1881. T. H. Bell v. J Blakeley, claim LG 6s* value of a heifer slaughtered by him without consent. Defendent admi-ted killing the beast, but pleaded in defence that ho had mistaken it for one he had bought a day or two previously, ft being of similar color and same brand. Judgment for amount claimed, and cost LS 1 .fs. C. T. Marie v, J, Holt, claim 1.21 12«, damages sustained fiom an assault by the 1 defendant. For the assault comp ai n door' r defendant had been bound over to keep the peace, and His Worship held that no fortiler proceedings conld be instituted for tho same offence, as laid down in Section 89 of the “Justice of the Peace Act.” The case was accordingly struck out. J. Glass v. J. Blakeley. Ho appearance of either party. Struck out. WARDEN'S COURT. > (Before Major Keddcll, Warden.) W. Williams applied for leave to construct a race for irrigation purposos, to terminate at the Clyde Pound. A number of objections were made, and the Wardendecided to reserve his decision till next Court day to consider them. R. M'Laron’s application for A grienttural lease of Section 2, Block IV, Leaning. Rock District, was granted.
