LIVE STOCK.

“ White Hazard,” who is contributing a series of articles weekly to the Tapanui Courier, writes as follows “ London to New Zealand in Shaw, Savill, and Co.’s first-o'ass clipper packets : Thus reads the first part of an advertisement in an Invercargill journal setting fork the advantages of travelling by this old established line of vessels. As a further inducement the following paragraph is added, ‘ The saloon table is liberally supplied with provisions of the best quality, including live stock.’ Here is a chance for making a start in the colonies as soon as you get there—t don’t think. Mr Ah Lick tells me small fry of the live stock description make very nice sauce. 1 can’t give a decided opinion, as none has ever come in my way ; but I shall watch carefully the first lot of passengers that come to New Zealand by this line, to see if they do with the live stock what some people are in the habit of doing at teatights—viz, collaring all they can.”
