Young Rekormeii, by Emperor, was bred by the late Mr Donald Grant, Kirkland ; dam, Oeut'e, by Champion ; Champion, bred by Mr Anderson, Diuinore, Wigtonshire, Scotland. Champion, when a yearling, gained two first prizes ; as a two-year-old, four fist and two second prizes; when a three-year old, a premium of 40 sovereigns at Glasgow ; when four years old, a premium of 50 sovereigns given hy the Kirkcudbright Agricultural Society ; and when five years old got £4O premium at Glasgow ; lie also got a silver medal for the five best yearlings got by any horse in 1859. Also a number of first prizes in Australia, and first prize at the Taieri, tha only year he was shown. Gentle, dam Betty, was bred by Captain Gardner, Datldenoug, Victoria ; sire, tha imported Clydesdale horse Reformer ; dam, Bess, imported by Captain Gardner. Betty gained first prize as a one year-old in Melbourne in 1354 ; second as a two-year-old, in 1855 ; and first as a three-year old, in 1856—a1l in Melbourne. Young Reformer is a brown horse, 16i hands high, rising five years old. Terms—£3 10s ; Groom’s fe°, ss, payable at fust service. Glasgow Geordie stands ICJ hands high, is a beaut fm bright bay, with splcndi I legs, has very superior action, wi'h a 1 most faultless symmetry, and has proved himself a sure foal getter. His dam Empress, own sister to Emperor, was bred by W. H. Valpy, Esq , out of Nancy (imported), by Napoleon (imported). Empress has gained the following prizes, vi»:—Second in Dunedin in 1866, heatup; Nimmo’s celebrated bay mare Kate, which was sold to go to Canterbury for L 220 in IS6S ; gained the second prize at Taiciiaud third at Dunedin, heating Nimmo’s old black marc Jem; and in 1870 gained second at Taieri, first at t-hag Valley, and first at Blueskin. She was only exhibited six times, and was successful cu each occasion. Nancy was by the famous Garvey horse, and was bred by Alex. Findlay, Esq., Saudyhills, near Glasgow, and 'was imported to Otago by \V. H. Valpv, Esq., per the ship Southern Cross, in 1850. Nancy was first shown as a tluce-year-old in 1854, and gai oed Frst Prize at Hamilton, First at Baillcstown, Second at Glasgow, and Second at Kildbride. She was next year shown as brood mare at Glasgow and kildl nide, when the took Second Prize at both places. His sire, the celebrated imported horsa Glasgow Geordie, by Champion, was bred by Mr Andrew Warnock, B aryards, near Glasgow, out of his Prize marc Maggie, whose stock wore all prize-takers without exception, and, although most of them ware sold when Under two years old. they realized in the aggregate over L 1,200. Glasgow Geor.lic has taken the following prizes First at Maryhill, Kirkiiitnl'oik Bishopbiiggs, and Johnson ; in ISG7 he ; gained First Prize at T. komairiro, First at Taieri. and first at Dunedin ; and l$G3 f First, at Taieri, and Second at Dunedin. Champion gained prizes as a cult at almost every show in Lanarkshire. When . four years old he gained the first Friz ■of 1.40.and a Silver Modal at Glasgow, where I 2S horses competed ; when five years old he ; gained the First Prize of 1,40 and ? Medal at Gatehouse, G fleet ; also the same vear he gained the First Prize of 1,30 at'tho Iliglibnd Society's Show, Dumfries ; when six old lie gained First Prize of L-10 and . Medal at Gatehouse, O'Flcet ; when seven years old lie gained the First Prize of 1.4!) at Glasgow ; a id Hie same year he gained the medium Gold Medal at the Highland Society's Show at Kelso, being then outlawed for any othei tiling than extra Stock; also First Prize of 1.50 at Carlisle, and Second at the Great International Exhibition, London, in the year ISG2—thus showing Glasgow Geordie to he a pnre-bmj r Clydesdale, and combining the two best • strains of blood ever imported to Otago—i viz., Glasgow Geordie and Emperor, the owner of the latter last year refusing L6OO for him.
