Mr Donald Scronaoh (on behalf of the Xe v Z -aluml Loan ami Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the week i-ndim; Seut'-mber 29th ;

Pat Cattle.—The market was well supplied to-day with 203 head,- anil the demand was not very spirited, prices of last week being scarcely supported. Bullocks rea'ised L!i 17s lid to Ll2 17s (i I. and cows L7to LS T2s (51 per head. Wo sold on account of Messrs Wilson Brnt.be - s 12 bullocks, at L 7 12a G1 to LS 12s G1 ; and on account of Messrs Smith amt Barnwell 11 bullocks, from the Sea-own M-itat", st from L 0 lus to LI - I 15s. Pat Calves. —lO head were yarded, and sol I at, from los to 33s per head. Fat. Sheep —A full snpp'y was forward, con.-ds mg of 2-SL) or-sa-breda ami 1157 nmiinos, and quotations sh -w a slight decline. (!ross-bre la fetched from 13s to Mis and mat in -s 7s to Ids per head.' On account of Mr John Bei l, of Aiblav Hay, wo disposed of 45J meiino ewes, at 7s ; and on a count of Messrs J O. Orey ami David Oorsan respectively of 145 cross-breds at Lss, an I 107 e. -oss-bre'ls (shorn) at 9s per hea l. We quite 2i| I ;for cross-bred sheep in the wool, and l|i for shorn.

Fat Lambs.—7o were cleared at from 6s 6dtol3s9d. We sold a draft on account of Messrs llubson and Wilson Brothers at up to 13s 9J per head. Fat Fiys.—4s sold at from 15s to 100s per head, Wool—We are now in possession of advices by cable to the close of the third series of auctions in London, and are glad to observe that the improvement which we have been able to report upon the lower prices ruling at the commencement of the sales was fully maintained to the c esc, and that, according to present appearances, the market is likely to he snppoited at the next series, commencing 23rd November. We quote the following telegram from our Lon dun office, under date 25th September : “The sales closed (irmly on 25th intt nt fully at the level of last series. The sales comprise about 289,090 bales ; 35.000 bales have been held over for future disposal, and 100,000 hales taken for export. We expect next sales will open at about present quotations. Supeiiur combing washed, advanced Id per lb, and superior greasv \ I Id ; scoured; market firmer; clothing washed, market unchanged ; cross bred, market firmer ; lambs, market unchanged. Th'i principal advance has been in superior combing washed. Trade in the manufacturing districts is slightly better.” Sheepskins—We offered a moderate catalogue at our weekly sale on Monday, which elicited fair c< inpetition, and was cleared at the following rates barely sup parting late pi ices .—Butchers’ cross-breds, 4s 4 1 to 5s lOd ; merinos, 3s 8i to 5s 3d ; station skins, peril). Hides. Demand continues good at 20s for butchers’ green hides, and per lb fur wet salted.

Tallow. —We report sales of medium at 20s Cd per cwt., which is now about the top quotation for well-rendered tallow. Hough fat can still be placed at 17s per cwt.

Crain.—Wheat : Prime milling could be disposed of at our quotation of last week, but lb • hulk of the parcels m the market is ot medium quality, for which the demand is nut brisk, and transactions accordingly arc limited. \Vc quote 4s Gd for pdme milling and 3s G1 to 4r 31 for me limn. Oa s are inquired for, but buyers are indisp' sod to give more than Is Gd for good feed, ai which figure sales have been made. Tnere M very little inquiry for milling, which is nominally worth la Sd. Barley; Con suiiicrs being well supplied, are not inclined to make fresh purchases until thenstocks are reduced, especially as there is no indication of an improvement in value. We quote 3s 3d for prime malting, 2a Od to 3s 3 I for medium, but in the present condition of the maiket these prices must be considered nominal.
