The Melbourne Frozen Meat Company has chartered a steamer, and intend fitting her up with refrigerating machinery, dhe sails for London in October.

At Christchurch, on the sth instant, two men went out shooting. One shot was fired and a hen pheasant killed. They had to pay L 9 6s for the shot and somebody else ate the pheasant. The Pacific Mail Company have reduced the fare through to England to LC7. At Auckland, on the llth instant, Smith the landlord of the Occidental Hotel, was fined H0 for permitting gambling in his hotel.

Sir Hercules Robinson arrived at Sydney on the 13th instant.

Heavy rains have fallen in Melbourne and Geelong—portions of both cities are flooded.
