The return of land held under depastur - ing and other leases (except for mining), ami of rents paid for year ending December 31st, 1879, shows that in the whole Colony the land held for depasturing purposes is 12,025,013 acres ; agricultural leases, 123, 813 acres ; mineral and other purposes, 111,287 acres ; total rents and assessment, U IS, 605.
