STOCK REPORT.

Mr Ronald Stronach (on behalf of tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the week ending 14th July ; hat Cattle. —l3B head (of which 20 were storesjwerc yarded to-day at Burnaide, and the supply being small, found ready buyers at an advance of 2s 61 per lOOlbs on the prices of last week. Bullocks fetched from L 7 to LI4 16a ;"and cows 15 to 1.0 15a per head. We quote prime beef 27s Gd per lOOlbs.

Fat Sheep, - Tho supply to day consisted of 2483 head, of which 500 were merinos, and 1083 crossbreds. The hitter fetched 11s 0d to 17s 31, and the f irnwr os to 12s Cd per head, fully supporting last week’s quotations. We sold on account of Messrs T. and M, Henderson and Taylor, 158 crossbreds at 13s 61 to 14s 01 ; and on account of Mr Walter Miller, 130 crossbreds at 11s 9d to 17s 31, and 20 merinos at 0s per head. We quote prime mutton 3d per lb.

Wool. —Wo sold on Monday several small lots of various marks as under, to fellmongers and for shipment, at fair prices, considering the recent depression in tho London market:— Greasy wool. W, 1 bale merino, Ifijil ; 1 do crossbred, 9|d ; SWP, I do broken fleeces, CJd ; 80, 2 do pieces, GJd ;14 do locks, sid ; .188 in triangle, 1 do merino and crossbred, Uhl ; 1 do crossbred pieces, s|d; Ido locks, 4J 1 ; ED in square, 3 do merino, 84d ; BB in triangle, 7do merino, I0)d ; 1 do crossbred, 041 ; 1 do locks and pieces, 4Jd ; scoured wool, ATHY, 8 bales crossbred, Is Cd ; 4 do, Is S|d ; 1 do locks, Ifljd j and sundry bags. Sheepskins At our usual weekly auction we cleared a full catalogue with good competition. Prices obtained were, however, scarcely up to those of previous week. Butchers’ crossbred skins realised from 2s lid to 4s 5d ; merinos, 2s Gd to 3s 81; station skins, 2s 2d to 5s 2d each.

Hides.—No change to report, the demand continuing good at 3J I per 11) for wet salted ; and 20s each for butchers' green hides. Taffow —There is a fair demand for local consumption at previous rates, say good tallow 22s to 275, and rough fat His to 17s per cwt. Grain.—Wheat: transactions have been on an exceedingly small scale, supplies of good quality being very limited. Any consignments of that description could be disposed of without difficulty at last week’s prices, viz, for prime milling, ,7s lOd to 3s lid. Wo quote medium 3s Gd to 3s Bd, at which we have made sales; fowl’s feed, 2s 3d to 2s 9d. Oats ; We report a rather improved market, some parcels of good milling oats having changed hands at la GJ, holders iu consequence continue (inn. Good feet oats may be quoted at 1s 41 to Is 4sd, with a fair demand. Barley : No improvem- nt to report in the condition of the maiket.
