M. Rochef irt, availing himself of tbe pardon granted by the President to Communists, has arrived in Paris, and lias received a cordial welcome from his friends and sympathisers.
London, July 14th.
It is expected there will be a deficiency in the Russian harvest arnounring to 9,750, 000 quarters. The Porte continues to take stops to offer armed resistance to any attempts that may be made to enforce the decision of the Berlin Conference, and for that purpose Turkish troops are being massed at Adrianople, Salonioa, Volo, Prevesa, and Thesaly. Gallipoli, on the Dardanelles, is, moreover, being strongly fortified. July 15th. A terrible explosion occurred to day in one of the collieries near Newport, in Monmouthshire, hy which 119 miners met with their death.

The ambassadors of the Great Powers to-day presented the Collective Note to the Porte embodying the decision of the recent Berlin Conference in regard to Turkish affairs.
The total reserve of notes and bullion in the Bank of England is L 10,500,000. July 17. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 1,800,000 quarters. T he House of Commons has agreed to a motion against the proposed statue to Prince Napoleon in Westminster Abbey.
Athens, July 17 th
The Greek Government have sent to the Great Powers a rep'y to their Collective Note embodying the decision of the Berlin Conference in regard to the Turko-Greek dispute. The reply intimates the acceptance hy the Greek Government of the decision of the Conference as to the territory to be ceded to Greece for the rectification of her frontier.

Several Germans have recenly been appointed by the Porte to high posts in the Turkish foreign, finance, and War departments.

The well-known Australian liner Hydaspes, 2093 tins, outward hound for Melbourne, came into collision with another vessel off Dungeiiess yesterday during a thick fog? The Hydaspes sunk shortly after the collision, but all the passengers and the crew were saved.

Tbe trouble between Turkey and Greece over the required cession of territory to the latter for the rectification of her frontier continues, and a strong warlike feeling is manifesting itself in both countries. Hobart Pasha, commander of the Turkish navy, refuses to fight the Greeks. The Porte continues to m ike warlike preparations, and Turkish troops are being sent in large numbers to tbe Dardanelles, where the fortifications are being strengthened.
