Tim I area held under lease is 1G acres, and ! in connection with the mine there is ' a tiistilass water-race, carrying sutli- I ciont water all the year round to drive ton to fit'.een heads of stampers, j The mine has been opened up and - prospected very considei ably, a tunnel i having been driven along the line of j reef a distance of 240 feet. At CO ! feet and 120 feet from the mouth of, tunnel two winzes have been sunk, in both of which a strong roof has Icon found, with payable gold. The reef is in two parts; the portion lying alongside the head wall being two feet thick, the other portion from six inches to one foot thick. There is plenty of stone in sight, but it the present tunnel is driven in 530 feet further ii, will cut an old reef at a depth of 55 feet below the old workings, leaving a large body of stone to be worked.
