STOCK REPORT.

Mr Donald Stronaeh (on belnlf of tlic New Z-aland Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows for the week ending 7th July : Fat Cattle were in fair supply at Burnside to-day, when Sid head were yarded. The demand was rather slow, and prices expcienceda decline of about 2s G1 per 10011 is. upon those of last week. Bullocks fetched from 1.7 5s to Ll2 10s, and cows Ls2asd to LlO 7s Gd per head. We sold a draft on account of Mr William Shaud at from T.S to LlO for bullocks, and 1.7 for cows. Quotations for prime beef, 25s ; and medium, 22a Gd per IflOlbs. Fat Calves. Four head yarded, which sold at from 7a to 20s per head. Fat Sheep.—2223 head were penned, consisting of 713 merinos and 1510 crossbreds. The latter realised from 10s 9d to 2"s, and the former as to ]os fid, these prices about supporting last week's quotatations. We sold on account of Mr John Duncan, of Cherry farm, 170 head o'crossbred at IDs 91 to 13s; ami on behalf of Messrs Smith ami VcZcy, 713 head of merinos, as quoted above. We quote prime mutton 3d per lb. Privately we have placed about 2000 head at quotations.)

Sheepskins.—We offered a small catalogue on Monday, which was cleared, with fair competition, at prices fully equal to those of previous week. Butchers’ cross-

bred ranged from 3a Cd to Is 7d, and merinos 2s 91 to .'!s C 1 each. Hides.— At our late quotations we liave made considerable sales, and can p ace all coming forward at the same figures. Tallow.—Quotations remain unuhangr 1 , say, 2Gs per owt. for well-rendered tallow, and I Os for rough fat, at which several parcels have been disposed of. Grain,—Wheat: Very few parcels are coming to hand, and stocks are held for better prices, so that business has been very limited. We repeat our quotations of 3s 101 for prime milling, 3s Gd to 3s 8.1 for medium. Fowl-feed, 2s 31 to 2s 21, with poor demand. Oats ; There is a fair demand for shipment, without, however, any change in values. Inquiry for local trade requirements very small. Prime milling may be quote 1 at Is 51, and feed Is 3d to Is Id per bushel. Barley; No movement; any quotations would fie only nominal.
