OTAGO CENTRAL RAILWAY.

The following areata in the Evening Star frotS its own Correspondent" at Wellington : Wellington, June 14tb. Mr Oliver.declined to make any appointment, stating that he would see tham'a'ny time if disengaged* but they must take their chance. Mr Pyko ventured to observe iii bis mildest m'anner that Messrs Ewing and Colclough had come 750 miles to see the Minister; and'they were quite willing to wait upon his convenience at any time he might name within one week ; that other members ot Parliament were desirous oi being present;

and that he (Mr Pyke) could hardly ask them to kick their heels in the lobbies indefinitely, even on the chance of seeing a Minister el the Crown. Mr Oliver would not, hervever, give any other answer but that he blight hh engaged—Hiey must take their chance. Mr tyke ihj.uediat.ely waited upon the Premier, complaining of the treatment received from his Minister of Works, and requesting him to receive tlie deputation as Premier, which lie at once consented to do. Messrs Pyke, De tintour, and Barron accordingly submitted a formal letter, requesting Mr Hall to notify a time when be will receive the deputation, to which an answer will be returned today.
