CONROY'S GULLY REEF.
On Monday vi'eek a meeting was held in the Library Hall, Alex'ahufa,' for the purpose of taking preliminary steps towards tlie formation of a limited liability company for the working of Conroy’s Reef. Mr Jas. Rivers occupied the chair, and spoke at some length upon the advantages which would accrue to the district from the successful working of payable reefs. Mr J, Bennett, cue of the promoters, then made a statement of the work which had been done on the reef, and the prospects obtained, frPuV Which it appeared that the operations of tlie proposed company were likely to bo of a highly remunerative character.
A discussion of a" conversational nature followed, after which it was proposed that the persons present at the rireoting should put down their uair.es for the number of shares they were within; to t'ahe up in (he proposed cnuipiuy, which resulted in an aggregate of over 000 shares heing applied for. The following gentlemen were appointed as provisional directors : —Messrs' Theyers, liivers, ltatcliffe, ■Siimuoiuls, Fraser, M'Kenzie, and M'Donald. The prospectus vail he issued shortly, and there is very little doubt that the company will he successfully tloated. [This report did not reach us in time foe puolication last week.]-
