The railroad interests have fought against it in the legislature for several years, . because they would lose the freighting of oil, which is a heavy interest in the Keystone State. The “TideWater Pipe Line,” which extends from Corryvillc W Williamsport—lo4 niilds —has Commenced operations. The (irst oil was 140 hours in passing this distance; and it Wok 20,000 barrels of oil to fill the fentiio pipe. Six thousand barrels of oil pass throtrgh it daily. ' Large tanks for ltd reception are built at Williamsport. This is doubtless an important experiment, which will finally result in a complete overturn in the transportation of petroleum. Here, surely, is something now under the sun,”
