THE SYDNEY EXHIBITION.

The following awards affecting New Zealand have been made at the Sydney Exhibition :—ln class mild ales, M, Joel, Bed Linn Brewery, Dunedin, took the first prize; Brown and Campbell, of Aucklund, were highly commended. In the class of pale ales, Martin, of Invercargill, tool; a first prize. The samples sent by Pasooe, of Wellington, and J. Wilson, Well Park, Dnnrdin, were highly commended. In the clrsi of strong ales, Vincent, ot Glnistc! u-ch, took first prize ; Speight, of Dunedin, second. In the class for bottled stout, Crawford ot Gisborne, took first prize ; the Phoenix Brewery (probably Ehrenfried’s), second. No awards were made for bottled ale. The first prize for wheat falls to M ; Oill, Milton; for oats, lo Cunningham and Co., Christchurch, and J. T. Meek and Co , O.inmn ; for barley, to Harley. Nelson. Tue judges give the palm to New Zealand for malting barley ami oats, and to Adelaide for wheat. Andrew. of Nelson, took the second prize for his exhibit of hops ; and Strang, of Invercargill, the third prizi for coffee ; Trent, of Christchurch, takes the second prize for popper ; Macdonald and Miller, of Dunedin, the first prize for bacon ; Blake, of Pictnn, takes first prizy and Sheedy, of Dunedin, the second prize for hams.
