THE CLYDESDALE HOUSE LL stand at Hawkesburn Station during the Season 187980. The Season will commence on the Ist November, terminating on the Ist January. WILL TRAVEL THIS SEASON, BLACKS and surrounding districts. THE CELEBRATED CLYDESDALE HORSE CHAMPION. CHAMPION is a dark bay, stands 16| bands high, bred by Mr Wm. Puddy, Woodhead Farm, Hawkesbury. Sire, “Prince;” dam, “Gipsy," imported from Tasmania. Champion took first prize at the Blueskin Show in 1577 ; he also took the Champion Prize in the yard the same year for the heat animal. He has an excellent temper, splendid action, and has also proved himself a sure foal getter and splendid worker. Terms : £3 10s, payable at end of season, Groom’s Fee, ss, to he paid at time of service Guarantees by arrangement. One mare out of five allowed gratis, being the property of one owner. °

THE CELEBRATED TROTTING COB, MERCURY WILL stand this season at Clyde and Blacks, and also travel Clyde, Blacks, Alexandra, Cromwell, and Bannockburn. Well grassed paddocks for the accommodation of Mares coining from a distance provided at Clyde and Blacks. Every care taken but no responsibility. The season will commence early in October, and close in January, 1880. SURPRISE, bred by John Hamilton, Esq., is by that well known Clydesdale sire Thane of Clyde,, imported to Southland by Hugh Maclean, Esq. Dam bred by A. Clerke, Esq , Longford, Tasmania, and imported into Southland by the Mess r s Clerke Brothers, for breeding purposes on their farm. Surprise is a dark dappled bay, stands 17 hands high. He is a remarkably compact and powerful horse, with immense bone, tine flat leg, unequalled action, and docile temper He has proved himself a sure foal getter, and his stock are not surpassed by the progeny of any horse which has ever served in the Southland and Clyde districts, where he has travelled. Surprise took second prize at two, three, and four years old at the Invercargill Annual Show against all comers. Well grassed paddocks at Ida Valley for the accommodation of mares coming from a distance will be provided free of charge, without responsibility. The greatest care taken. Terms:—£3. Grooraage, sa.
