ALEXANDRA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
o An ordinary meeting of the Alexandra Borough Council was held on Wednesday, February. Present—Jas. Rivers, Esq., Mayor (in the chair) and Councillors McDonald. Robertson, and Theyers. The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed. Moved by Councillor Robertson, seconded by Councillor M‘Donald—That the Town Clerk be instructed to write to the various Dunedin firms, to ascertain at what price they can supply cast iron and galvanised iron piping.—Carried. Proposed by Councillor Thayers, seconded by Councillor Robertson—That the Town Clerk take steps to get the agreement with the lessees of the Corporation water race signed before the next meeting of the Council.—Carried. It was resolved- That the Town Clerk be instructed to call for tenders from the proprietors of the Dunstan Times and Cromwell Argus, for the insertion of the Corporation advertis iments for twelve months ; and that tenders be called for the purchase of two coils of rope, the property of the Corporation. The following accounts were passed for payment: G. Fache, L 6 2s ;W. Beresford, L 6 4s 8d ; W. Forrest, L 7 10s. The proceedings terminated with the usual vote of thanks to the chair.
