CLYDE BRASS BAND.

o A public meeting called on the requisition of a number of the Members of the Clyde Brass Band was held in the Library Hal', Clyde on Saturday evening last the 7tii instant. About a dozen gentlemen were in attendance, of whom Mr Auckland occupied the Chair, and stating the object of the meeting, viz.- -To decide as to whether the Clyde Brass Bond was to be kept up, or whether the instruments should be sold, and the proceeds, together with the cash balance in band distributed amongst the members of the band—he called ou the Secretary for his report. Mr G. Clark, Secretary slated that the Brass Band consisted of four brass instruments, big drum and two side drums, and that there was LlO Is. 3d. cadi in hand.

Mr Hastie, one of the members of the band, rose and said, that without a leader the Band was disorganised, and the members thought it better to disband, dispose of the instruments, and either divide the proceeds, together with the cash balance in band among the members of the Band, or give it as a donation to the Hospital. The meeting, as one voice, protested against any such proceeding. After discussion the following wore elected MembersnfCommittee—Messrs G Fache, A. D. Harvey, A- R. Mackay, J. Wehk, and Geo. Clark, Secretary, and it was resolved that the instruments and cash balance in band bo at the disposal of the Committee. The meeting then separated.
